Shoppers will want to head for Robson Street. History buffs should visit the area of historic Gastown. Nearby Chinatown is North America's third-largest Chinese community. For a peaceful respite, go to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden (578 Carrall Street), considered the first authentic Ming Dynasty-styled garden outside China. Granville Market is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike - where everything is fresh - cut flowers, herbs, food - and where you can grab a great sandwich. A visit would not be complete without a visit to Yaletown. Once an industrial neighborhood, it is now Vancouver's hippest full of high-end boutiques, restaurants and cafes. Outdoor enthusiasts may want to hike on Grouse Mountain's Grind where the top of the mountain views are spectacular. Kayak along English Bay and False Creek. If you have or rent a car, you can drive to the fishing village of Steveston and its charming shops and marina with fresh shrimp and halibut.
